The Department of Chemistry of Khulna University of Engineering & Technology (KUET) former Engineering College, Khulna (1974) and Bangladesh Institute of Technology (BIT), Khulna (1986) started its journey in 1974 as one of the early Department of this institute. The Department runs core courses in chemistry for undergraduate B.Sc. (Eng.) students, and offers M.Sc., M.Phil. and Ph.D. programme in chemistry. Postgraduate research is carried out in all major areas of chemical sciences (physical, organic, inorganic and analytical chemistry). The Department has a dedicated team of staff members and distinguished faculties, trained at renowned institutes at home & abroad. With the advancement of time, the Chemistry department becomes the centre of excellence both in teaching and in applied research. The faculty members attract substantial financial support for their research activities from governmental and private agencies. The Department has a strong commitment to provide a dynamic and vibrant learning environment to the students, as well as it responsive to the ever-changing face of chemistry education
